REVDEV — Plan-Driven AI Pair Programmer

Overview

REVDEV is an AI-powered IDE that runs entirely in the browser. You describe what you want to build, and an agent turns the request into a working, running project while you watch.

How it works

The agent always starts by writing a plan: a checklist of steps that tick off live as they run, while failed steps turn red and show the error. Generated files stream character by character into a CodeMirror editor, which switches automatically to the file being written. A WebContainer boots a full Node.js sandbox inside the page to run npm install and the dev server with hot reload, and the preview stays alive when you switch tabs.

When the dev server reports a compile error or a missing module, the preview layer detects it and sends an auto-fix request back to the agent, which plans a fix, applies it and retries. Runtime exceptions in the agent itself are captured by Sentry. A dedicated tool lets the agent read the latest issue and repair itself.

Architecture

• Agent: runs on Inngest Agent Kit, with tools for planning, creating and updating files, scraping URLs and reading Sentry issues.
• Data: Convex stores projects, files, plans, messages, editor streams and build checks as real-time queries, so the chat, editor and preview stay in sync without manual polling.
• Auth: handled by Clerk.

It works well on networks in mainland China out of the box: DeepSeek is the default coding model, and a regional npm mirror is the default registry. OpenAI and other providers are also supported.
