AI HR Recruitment System — Automated CV Screening & Interview Scheduling

Overview

This project automates the early stages of recruitment, from receiving an application to booking a phone interview, using n8n, OpenAI models and Airtable as the applicant tracking system.

How it works

Candidates apply through an n8n form with CV upload. The CV is stored in Google Drive, its text is extracted, and a candidate record is created in Airtable. An AI agent then evaluates the CV against the job description held in Airtable and returns a structured score between 0 and 1 with reasoning.

Candidates below the configurable threshold (0.7 by default) are marked as rejected; those above it move to the interviewing stage. For shortlisted candidates, OpenAI generates five tailored follow-up questions presented in a second form, and their answers are saved back to Airtable.

The workflow then writes a personalized invitation email that highlights the candidate's strengths, and an AI agent with a Google Calendar tool books a 30-minute slot for the next day. Finally, it generates pre-interview screening questions based on the CV and questionnaire responses so the interviewer arrives prepared. Throughout, Airtable tools let the agents read and update the candidate pipeline, keeping every stage traceable.
